England v South Africa ? Third ODI Betting Tips

It has certainly been a busy few days for English cricket with Andrew Strauss stepping down as the Test captain and Alistair Cook taking over from him.

Despite all of this, there is still a One Day International series for the Three Lions to focus of as England face South Africa in the third ODI of the five match series at The Oval on Friday.

Cook will of course be the captain of the side and after the first match was a washout and the second South Africa won comfortably, the home team must avoid defeat if they want to win the series.

With these two sides being the top two in terms of world rankings in this format of the game, the winner of the series will take number one spot.

As mentioned, England were outplayed last time out in Southampton never really looked in the game as they were chasing a fairly big score.

It looks as though confidence in the camp is a bit shot and Cook will need to reinstall that is his men are to come out on top here.

The middle order all got starts but could not go on to make a century, something that they must do if they are to win ODI matches.

As for South Africa, in contrast to England, their confidence is sky high and they seem to have made winning a habit over recent months.

There was no doubt about the star man for the tourists ? Hashim Amla, who yet again taught England a lesson in how to protect your wicket and accumulate runs as he made 150.

The Proteas seem to have a superb balance in their side and will be confident of coming out on top again at the Oval on Friday.

Match Odds

It is no surprise that South Africa are the current favourites to take a 2-0 lead in the series. You can back them at 1.80 (4/5) with StanJames.

England know they must win this one and return to some form, they are being offered at 2.20 (6/5) with Paddy Power.

Top Batsman

Alistair Cook and Ian Bell look to be the joint favourites to be England?s top batsman as both have odds of 4.50 (7/2) with SkyBet.

There is no question that the tourists top batsman is most likely to be Hashim Amla, he can be backed at 3.75 (11/4) with BoyleSports.

Recommended Bet

Ian Bell is one of England?s most in-form players at the moment and if they are to win he may need to score runs. Bell taking the Man of the Match award is being offered at 13.00 (12/1) with Ladbrokes.
